Want a chuckle??

A good friend sent me this article in an email. I've seen it before, but it still makes me laugh when I read it, so I thought I'd post it for y'all! Hope it brings you a chuckle, too.

Killer Biscuits Wanted for Attempted Murder
(the actual AP heading, but I retyped this article)

Lisa Burnett, 23, a resident of San Diego, was visiting her in-laws, and while there went to a nearby supermarket to pick up some groceries. Several people noticed her sitting in the car with the windows rolled up and her eyes closed, with both hands behind the back of her head. One customer who had been at the store for a while became concerned and walked over to the car. He noticed that Lisa’s eyes were now open, and she looked very strange. He asked her if she was okay, and Lisa replied that she had been shot in the back of the head, and had been holding her brains in for over an hour. The man called the paramedics, who broke into the car because the doors were locked and Lisa refused to remove her hands from her head. When they finally got in, they found that Lisa had a wad of bread dough on the back of her head…A Pillsbury biscuit canister had exploded from the heat, making a loud noise that sounded like a gunshot, and the wad of dough hit her in the back of her head. When she reached back to find out what it was, she felt the dough and thought it was her brains. She initially passed out, but quickly recovered and tried to hold her brains in for over an hour until someone noticed and came to her aid. Lisa is blonde.

Excitement!

I'm soooooo excited!

This morning I went outside with my puppy dog Gracie Lou Freebush and while I was waiting for her to ... well, you know... I was looking around my estate. (No, not even close to an estate ... I live in the city, with a 50 foot frontage!!!)

Anyway, I have had a bird house up in a small tree for probably 3 or 4 years. Never had any tenants, though. This year I noticed some "fluff" on the bottom side of the house, but never saw any activity.

Today, I went close, took the house in my hand (just to lift it to see if it was heavy or not) and WOWSER...I had a beak and two eyes look out through the doorway at me!!! I gently released the house and danced into the house to see my hubby and tell him the news.

OOoooh, there's gonna be babies, I'll just bet there will be babies!!!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

I had a wonderful treat yesterday. Our entire family got together and had a picnic at Mill Creek State Park in Youngstown, Ohio. The weather was iffy when things started out, but as grace would have it, it was gorgeous.

My daughters are wonderful! I know that sounds pompous, but it's true. They planned this event and carried it through. I felt so honored.

These darling children are my grandchildren. They are (from left to right) ...

Evelyn (1 month shy of 6), Hadley (13 months), Nathan (19 months) and Anna (19 months).

The picture on the left is my daughter Kelly and her family. The picture on the right is my daughter Jennifer and her family

This handsome man is my husband Rick and

our youngest grandchild so far.

Dear Lord,

Thank You for my family. You have taught me so much. You have listened to my prayers of joy, my prayers of sadness, my prayers of worry. You have answered every one...in the manner You know is right for me. I am truly grateful for the blessings you have given me.

In the name of Your son, Jesus Christ, Amen.

MU HA HA

It's done!! Hurray! My very first attempt at free-form letters and I did it for someone else!

I am happy with my effort for a first try, but I hope that it works for "Halloween Noises" that Tonya is making. I will write and get her address to send this off to her.

I made a few more Geese in the Forest blocks tonight with more to be completed this weekend. I find it difficult to do much other than work these days. I am so tired when I come home that I pretty much veg out. Summer vacation is coming!! Thankfully.

Boring

I'm a boring person of late.

I sewed a bit this weekend...made blocks for my Geese in the Forest BOM. I'm still behind, but I'm catching up.

I am working on my halloween noise word for Tanya's quilt. It's my first attempt at letters and I hope it's ok. My word is "Mu Ha Ha". I have it almost done, and I'm worried that it's not good enough to send to her. She can send it back to me if it's not what she would want to put in her quilt. I'll post a picture of it when I get it done. Not much more to do.

I made a horrible dinner tonight. I'm not a good cook anymore. I am watching what I eat, trying to eat healthy and still please Rick. Oh well, we ate, we were not hungry anymore and we didn't get sick!! LOL.

Well, this boring woman still needs to clean the litter box, so I'll end this post for now.

Dear Father in Heaven, thank You for today. Thank You for giving me the patience and restraint to deal with the difficult people who crossed my path today and the ability to enjoy the smiles that the pleasant folks brought my way. Help me to show Your light through my thoughts and actions. In the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen
