Recuperation

I am feeling better today. I slept like a log last night! Rest sure helps. Yesterday I felt very tired, I hurt and I was unable to sleep. Thankfully today is a better day.

Teresa asked about Flying Geese in the Forest Block of the Month quilt blocks. Here are a couple of pictures of the blocks I have done so far. I'm really behind on this, but I'll get caught up as soon as I'm feeling better.

My next block is all cut out and that feels good to have accomplished a bit today.

I won't be sewing the next blocks together soon; the getting up and sitting down, getting up/sitting down is tough right now.

Tomorrow maybe I'll do a little more cutting of pieces for the next block. Also, I have a raw-edge-hand-applique pattern all picked out and might do some fabric selection from my stash.

I really like hand work, so if I get it cut out I can take it when we go on vacation. Sitting by the pool with a small hand project sounds like fun to me...but with the grandchildren around I wonder how much sewing I'll get done. They are so much fun to watch as they play and do all their cute things!

Our passports came yesterday...the whole family's! We are all ready (well, my mind is ready, but stuff isn't ready) to roll. We have never been on a vacation with all the kids and grandkids, so I am so looking forward to it.

  1. OUCH!!!! It doesn't sound like much fun. I am glad to read that surgery went well and hope that Nathan's did as well.

Your geese blocks are so pretty. I can't wait to see it all done....someday.

Glad that the passports have arrived and that that vacation is quickly approaching. After nearly two weeks on the road with ten of our grandchildren I can tell you that I did not get much handwork done. It has been a great vacation with all of the gang and I will someday have all the time for that handwork, but the kids will not stay young forever. Enjoy and hope that you are feeling better soon.

  2. Hi Mimi,
I hope you are getting stronger by the minute and Nathan too.

The geese are lovely! I am working on a flying geese quilt myself, 480 of the birds..wheww.

    Rest up.
