Hi, Helen here. I'm known to at least six as Mimi. I create all kinds of things for all kinds of folks. I've worked in many creative venues...from doll clothes, leather clothing, bridal gowns and dresses, quilts, baby items to alterations and repairs and even some upholstery. If you would like, feel free to contact me at my email address. Please leave a comment, I'd love to know you've been here.

Boy have I been busy and productive today! I patched Rick's bathrobe (the fabric had a weak spot) and then threw it in the laundry. Then I went upstairs and finished the Valentine's Day cards for the grandkids. Then I cut out the Moda Blockhead Block #3. I sewed part of it together and thought I was done sewing for today. I got a roast on to cook about 1:00, I picked up the house a bit, I got the extra litterbox (for vacation) ready to set up later. I went back upstairs to sew a little more.
About 4 pm I finally got dressed! I had been in my nightgown nearly all day!!
I got my Garden Flag Swap flag and gift ready to send. It's all wrapped, just need to get an envelope from the post office tomorrow. I also got my Pay it Forward gift ready to send. I wrote notes, wrapped the gifts and then put the gift in a plastic bag and taped it shut; I also made mailing labels. Tomorrow I'll swing by the post office, get a bag and will send things off.
Roast beef, carrots, potatoes, onions and homemade rolls made up our dinner. It was delicious. After dinner we watched the Super Bowl.
Just after halftime, I went back upstairs and finished the Moda block. I'm tickled with the end product. Cutting, starching, matching points and pressing then trimming took forever, but just look how cool it looks!
It's been a great day. Oh! By the way, we had sunshine today!!
G'night...H

January musings
The holidays were great this year, all the family came home and it was fabulous having everyone together in our home. I think the children had a good time. Our grown-up kids went out while we kept all the grand kids. We had a great time with the grands and their parents;
I'm pretty sure the grown ups had a great time, too.I've been sewing a bit. My friend, Pat Hoaglin, asked me to make a bear and little blanket from her son's baby blanket. Pat has a new granddaughter and wanted these things for her. I'm not particularly fond of making stuffed animals, but she asked and I wanted to do it for her.
Before cutting into the blanket, I thought I should make a trial bear. I went into my "stash" and found this blue fleece. One of the neighbors just had a baby boy a couple of weeks ago, so this trial bear will be for baby Benjamin Douglas.
Next week I'm going to be making something I've not tried before...pictures and updates will follow.

Weekend activities...this and that
Nathan likes to pose!
Anna likes to give you her sweet smile. She got
the game ball! (She caught a ball in the chin...but she was tough and didn't even cry!)
Vivian gave Mimi a smile...not always willing to have her photo captured!
Guinness was the star of the day. Our brown granddog is 13 years old. He's a great dog.

Vivian...4 now
She is holding her banner for her bedroom door that Mimi (me) made for her for her birthday. This year each of the grandchildren got one of these for their birthday in the colors I chose for them. I hope they treasure them as they grow older and remember that their Mimi (and Papa) love them so very much. Happy, happy birthday Vivian! May your year be filled with wonder and love.

I sure hope this quilt reminds Vivian how much Mimi loves her long after Mimi is gone.

Grandbaby quilts

This one is Nathaniel's (we call him Nathan)

The pretty woman behind the quilts is Kelly, my daughter and the twins' mama.
I'll add a picture of big sister Evelyn's quilt (she is 5 and a half) when I find the picture.
This one belongs to Hadley Rose (and we call her Hadley Rose!)

The cute feet behind the quilt belong to my daughter Jennifer, Hadley's mama. She's beautiful, too, but didn't want to be in the picture!
Now for some excitement...I need to get busy and begin plans for another grandbaby quilt. No more news for now, updates to come!
:)
